E-learning will be used by the FCT

ABUJA – The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has made plans for its e-education platforms to be used in schools all over the Territory to help people learn more easily.

At a meeting of the FCT Administration's Executive Committee on Monday, June 27, 2022, Education Secretary Hon. Sani Dahir El-Katuzu gave this hint. Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, who is the FCT Minister, was in charge of the meeting.

Hon. El-Katuzu said that the Education Secretariat showed this plan to the Executive Committee.

In a statement to reporters, the FCT Minister's Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Anthony Ogunlelye, said that when this measure is fully in place, students who can't physically attend classes will be able to do so virtually, while results can be seen online and students' performance can be tracked, among other things.

"Parents can check their kids' grades online, and students who can't go to school because they are sick or have other problems can take classes at home," says the sentence.

"We want to use e-education, which means that all of our lesson plans, schemes of work, and lesson notes will be online so that we can keep track of things without having to go to the schools. All of these things are being planned for. In fact, we are already well on our way to making these things happen."

El-Katazu then said, "Most of the other e-provisions were made to help students who can't go to school in person.

"The real reason our schools had to close was because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We set up ways for students to go to class from home because of this. Because of this, things like smart schools and e-attendance came about.

The Senior Special Assistant on Security to the Honourable Minister, Ambassador Abu Salihu Mohammed, said that the FCT is the safest place in the country because security agencies work hard to keep it that way.

The aide said that there are some trouble spots, especially in border towns, but that there are enough measures in place, like joint security patrols, to stop criminal activity there.

He said, "There are some problems around the edges, but the security agencies are doing their best to deal with the places where there are pockets of kidnappings." We are also trying to work with the G-7 alliance to run joint operations to deal with the situation on the FCT's borders.

He told people to stay calm, watch out for their safety, and tell security agencies right away about any strange people or things they see.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the FCT Administration's Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies, as well as the Permanent Secretary of the FCTA, Mr. Olusade Adesola, and the Chief of Staff for the Minister, Malam Bashir Mai-Bornu.
