Africa finance coperation

The Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) is a regional organization founded via a public–private collaboration to assist Africa, namely by offering funding options to fulfill the region's infrastructure requirements. To achieve its mission, AFC has created strategic alliances with other regional financial institutions that likewise value growth and the financial effect of their investments. AFC's investment portfolio is worth approximately US$ 2 billion, and it has a history of making climate change adaptation and mitigation investments that improve livelihoods through renewable energy generation (such as hydropower and wind), sustainable transport, and low-emissions projects, utilizing equity and loans. AFC obtained GCF certification in order to continue implementing projects that address the region's infrastructure shortages while encouraging low-emission and climate-resilient development paths, using financial instruments such as loans, equity, and guarantees.
